How to Make an Outdoor Ashtray

Smoking in your home is not a good idea at all. Not only does it cause nicotine to stick to surfaces in your home, it also causes bad smells within your home. The worst thing about smoking in your home is if other people are living there, they can get lung cancer from the second hand smoke. While at the same time you do not want to walk outside your home and see all types of butts lying around in your yard or on your porch. When are taking a smoke outside or if you have friends over that smoke, this outdoor ashtray will become very helpful in keeping your yard clean.

First you will need to perchance a small or medium bucket and place about 4 handfuls of charcoal in the bottom. This charcoal will reduce the smell of the cigarettes when placed in the bucket.

Next pour a lot of sand over the charcoal until there is only about one inch of room left in the bucket.

Buy you a scooper to sit next to the ashtray for when it becomes to full and cannot hold anymore of the butts.

Place the bucket in a visible spot so that people will be able to see it. Put it in the spot you or someone else is most likely to be smoking at. If you really want the ashtray to stand out you can make a sign to put on the ashtray so that people will see where to dispose of their wastes.
